I think people often confuse the darker part of themselves with the real dark part of themselves. I have been called out to be a “Bitch,” and I have been called a “Narcissist” and a “D-bag,” and the list goes on and on. I have heard people say that I am lazy, I’m a bitch, and I’m a “D-bag.
I agree with my friend, and I think we all know what the real dark part of ourselves is. People are just too wrapped up in their own drama to ever admit to being the darker or real part of ourselves. But when we do, we end up with a lot of regret, a lot of self-loathing, and a lot of bitterness and anger over our own self-inflicted wounds.
I say that what you need is a therapist to help you talk about it. But at least in the privacy of your own head, you can acknowledge that the people and situations you know are the real you are the ones who want to avoid talking about it. The more open you are about your dark sides, the better you’ll be able to deal with them later on in life.
So, you had a bad day today? So you’re not good at that? Well, if it helps you to get over it, then so be it. But if it doesn’t, then you’re doomed to repeat it some day. So what do you do about it? It’s a sad fact of life that we can’t do anything about bad things. It’s a sad fact that this is true.
This is why we so often avoid them. We have so many dark thoughts and feelings, and we have so many dark memories. It can take a lot of effort and work to get to a place where we can talk about them.
