I was introduced to tie dye photography by a friend who is a photographer. I knew her as a professional photographer and had seen her work in the local newspaper. It was an art. I was intrigued, so I asked her if she would be willing to do a photography shoot for us to show her work. I knew she would not do it for free, but I figured it was better than nothing.
The shoot happened on July 3rd, 2012 at the Denny’s in North Beach, California. We were shooting there for an engagement shoot, but I think the reason we were there was because the photoshoot was in the same location as another engagement shoot we were doing (at the same time). I had a couple of friends with me (my friend from the newspaper was a photographer). We were dressed up as the bride and groom.
The shoot was an hour long. We had a few close friends with us and some of their friends came with us. We got there at 8:00am on the 3rd. It was really hot, like 130 degree heat. We were wearing some sort of black and white patterned shirt that I had on. I put on a black and white shirt and tie dye pants. We put on some white shirts. We were just being silly, but it wasn’t really necessary.
I don’t think people are actually wearing black and white anymore. They are just taking the color out of the dye. I think they just make it look cool.
I guess we were a little too stupid to realize that we weren’t actually going to get dye all over our clothes. But I still think it was pretty funny. I think we were also the only ones without a camera.
I think the new TieDye photoshoot is an interesting idea. I don’t think it would work, because I don’t think people would be interested in wearing black and white clothes all day. I don’t think people would be interested in taking pictures all day, but I do think people would be interested in wearing tie dye and maybe even a few black and white clothes. It’s kind of like a weird form of self-awareness, but not quite the same thing.

There’s a difference between self-awareness and self-awareness. There’s a difference between, “I have a strong desire to wear black and white, and I will wear black and white today.
The difference between self-awareness and self-awareness is that self-awareness is a conscious choice, whereas self-awareness is unconscious. That doesn’t mean the two are the same, you can’t learn a skill without practicing it (though a lot of people don’t realize that), but its still a choice. It’s like learning to ride a bike without actually doing it. You can learn to ride a bike, but you can’t learn to ride a bike without actually doing it.
The point is, you cant just wake up and magically be aware of all your senses, you have to practice. And that means practicing your senses a bit more. Because if you dont practice them and just do dumb things, you wont be practicing your senses at all.
Well, I for one, am learning to tie my shoes with a lot of practice. I hope you are too.
