A lot of Vikings fans are probably sick of the NFL and are probably sick of watching so many other sports on TV too. The only people they really miss are their own team, the Seahawks. A lot of people are sad about losing the Super Bowl last season, but there are only so many football games you can watch. But, when the Vikings were eliminated from the playoffs in a very surprising fashion, that was probably the biggest disappointment of all.
And, as a Vikings fan myself, I was heartbroken. All I wanted to do was watch the Vikings get back to the playoffs and win some games, but I couldn’t. So sad.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t really know what the Vikings are going to do in this off-season. The way I see it, they are going to spend the money that they wasted to make Chris Kluwe a free agent and hope that they can find a home for him next year, or try to sign a few free agents. The team is going to try to start over again.
Okay, I know we’ve talked about my last two opinions on the Vikings this season, but I’ll tell you why I think this off-season, or the season after that, is going to be a lot different. First of all they’re getting rid of Kluwe, and I think I know why. Kluwe has been one of the most frustrating players I have seen in a long time.
Kluwe is probably the best free agent on the team, but it’s hard to blame him for not wanting to be a part of the Vikings offense. He’s just not a good fit.
Kluwe isn’t going to be a part of the offense this year because we don’t have a big enough hole in the receiving corps to keep him in the lineup. Kluwe is on his second year in Minnesota, and last year he was in the top five of the MVP voting and was considered a key to the Vikings offense. Kluwe is coming off a career high of 19 receptions for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kluwe is a much more interesting player than Kluwe, but he isnt to be confused with Kluwe, Kluwe is not the player Kluwe is. Kluwe is an overrated middle-of-the-road wide receiver. He can be a very good slot receiver, but hes not going to be a reliable contributor to any Vikings offense. He is just a guy who was signed a year too late and is too good to be on the team.
The Vikings have just signed Matt Ryan and his new wide receiver, so I wouldnt be surprised if he is now the Vikings’ new starting tight end. I dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but the Vikings always seem to have an awful lot of problems at quarterback right before their season starts.
Ryan has been a fine quarterback. He is just not a very good receiver, and he is way too good to be on a Vikings offense. The Vikings offense isnt exactly a strong one. They are good at rushing the passer but they lack the passing skills to have an offensive line capable of running the ball.
If Ryan had been on the Vikings offense last season, he would have had a solid season, but he isnt. Vikings coach Brad Childress is so very, too so called “the greatest tight end coach in the history of the NFL.” He is the guy who has been trying to build a tight end revolution in the league for years. The Vikings offense isnt exactly a strong one either. The best part about him is that he is a great, yet still somewhat uninspired, coach.
